Information The App Processes
Revision Coach may process:
- Documents imported by the user, such as PDFs, images, or Word documents.
- Text and images extracted from those documents.
- Questions, answers, explanations, and chat messages created while using the app.
- Basic technical information needed to operate the service, such as app version, device type, error information, and server request metadata.
Revision Coach does not currently require a user account.
How Information Is Used
We use this information to:
- Build an outline from a revision document.
- Generate explanations, quiz questions, and answer feedback.
- Extract exam timetable information.
- Provide starter documents for testing and revision.
- Diagnose errors and keep the service reliable.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Local Device Storage
Imported documents, extracted text/images, quiz history, explanations, and timetable data are stored locally on the user’s device so the app can keep working between sessions.
Deleting a document from the Library removes that document from the app’s local library.
AI Processing
When the app uses the online AI service, relevant document content and study context are sent to our Cloudflare Worker. The Worker then sends the minimum content needed to OpenAI to generate outlines, explanations, quizzes, answer feedback, and timetable entries.
We do not intentionally store full imported documents on our servers. Cloudflare and OpenAI may process service requests and maintain operational logs according to their own security, privacy, and retention practices.
Offline Mock mode can be used during development without sending document content to the online AI service.
Starter Documents
Starter documents are hosted using Cloudflare R2 and downloaded when selected in the app. Downloading a starter document does not require a user account.
Children And Students
Revision Coach is designed for educational use. If a child uses the app, a parent, guardian, or school should review whether the app is appropriate for them.
The app does not currently ask for a child’s name, parent email address, or account login. If this changes, this privacy policy will be updated before that feature is released.
Third-Party Services
Revision Coach uses:
- Cloudflare, to host the backend Worker and starter documents.
- OpenAI, to provide AI-generated study help.
- Apple TestFlight, for beta distribution and beta feedback.
TestFlight Feedback
During beta testing, users may submit feedback through Apple’s TestFlight service. TestFlight feedback is handled by Apple and made available to the developer in App Store Connect. It may include screenshots, comments, device information, crash information, and an optional email address depending on how the tester submits feedback.
Data Retention
Data stored locally in the app remains on the user’s device until it is deleted by the user or the app is removed.
Server-side operational logs, if any, are retained only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
